Butterfly Fund News from Uganda Wend Africa

The Butterfly Fund supports three organizations in Uganda that works to supports survivors of sexual slavery and child soldier system by the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda.

Wend Africa is an organization that supports the survivors to become economically independent through making and selling handmade bags, bracelets, and dolls.

Wend Africa provides training for the survivors to learn how to make products and recently started a savings group at the tailoring workshop.

It also provides leadership training for the survivors to use their brilliant ideas and knowledge to become entrepreneurs.

In fact, the materials to produce these bags are imported from South Korea and Kenya, since Uganda does not produce necessary materials.
